Of course everyone loves the Fiat Panda. Its super cool boxy looks. Sleek power curve as you plant the pedal to the floor. The cheeky handling that puts a massive smile on your face in the country lanes.

But sometimes, you kinda feel like you need a little more umph. This has been my experience with my Panda and so I have decided to turbo charge it. If you are interested, I made a video of my turbo journey with Panda. The link below is a video about what is required to build the car. Next videos will be about the build itself. Stay tuned!

We have another thread on the subject that you might be interested to look at. Do a forum search. (y)

You can also fit bigger front brakes and discs from the Alfa 146.

Ordinary rubber fuel hose is cheap as chips fix with P clips or billet AN clamps. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RUBBER-REINFORCED-FUEL-HOSE-PIPE-FOR-ENGINES-OIL-GAS-UNLEADED-FUEL-INJECTION-UK/312675816144?hash=item48ccee52d0:g:Dd0AAOSwlYVdX~iY

If you want posh go to HEL for some large bore braided hose with AN fittings.

The front bumper fog light holes would be ideal for oil and intercooler. Fit woven stainless wire mesh over the inside
Use a standard Panda bumper and modify the top grille to take some 50mm LED spots inboard of the headlights. It's not ideal on a standard car because the air intake is in the way. But with a turbo engine that space becomes vacant. With narrow angle spots you get a great main beam support. With LED dimmers they work as day lights. 50 x 70 angel rings around the spots neaten the job and give neat day lighting.

100HP bumpers cost £Mega (>£500 all in). Standard Panda bumpers (£60) can have the black rubbing strip divot plastic welded over to smooth out the appearance. I did mine with adhesion promoter and filler. OK but not ideal.

Dave. :)

PS He used a PWR brand charge cooler. https://www.pwreurope.com/products/intercoolers/liquid-to-air-intercoolers

I used one of their transmission oil coolers (from Australia) on a motorbike. Obviously take advice on cooling capacity but my 280 x 110 x 19 did a good job on a 900cc air cooled bike. It developed 90bhp and used the same oil in transmission and engine. I would have preferred a 150mm cooler rad, but available space limited me to the 110mm. The car should easily handle a larger oil cooler.

They are very well made and far less clunky than other brands. Fluoro lined oil hose bends from ASH did the oil connection duties.

If you need to take oil in from the bottom (as I did) get an M5 screw boss TIG (or Lumiweld) welded to one of the end stacks to use as an air vent.

Subbed (y)

All going well this will probably be a route I take in the future

Cylinder head porting might add 10% power. A tubular exhaust manifold maybe another 10%. That along with a low blow turbo could take it to 150bhp.
Educated guesswork of course but its not just about the brute force of a blower.
