General Panda dahsboard clock not keeping time

Yes engine revs up but car not going faster. It is worse from 2nd and 3rd. 4th and 5th not sure havent taken out the car to motorway recently.

So cluthch kit and master slave cylinder are separate thing? Do they need to be replaced together at the same time? Or could be just one of those things gone bad?

Hopefully local garage will be able to clarify what needing to be done to correct the problem.

Yes I'd say clutch too as that's the symptoms I had with the clutch slipping. Replaced and fine after.

Will be taking the Panda to local garage for check up, and get their verdict.

Will then either replace clutch or whatever needing to be done will be done.

The clutch master cylinder is not the strongest or least cost item on the car but is easy to replace. The slave is much less money so often gets changed only for the master having to be done because the new clutch is behaving badly.

The pedal going to the floor with little resistance is likely to be air in the system. Air can only get in via worn seals. You can't buy seals so have to get new hydraulics.

When there is no drive the clutch has to be the first place to look. If it's oil contaminated, the leak has to be found or the new clutch will go the same way.

There is no leak from the car.

It is just shifting gear is a bit rough, and sometimes makes noise as well especially on reverse gear.

Clutch pedal itself is feeling not too abnormal. It goes down to floor and comes back up as normal.

But clutch point is very high up, and engine revs up on 2nd and 3rd gear, but car doesn't drive faster.

So we will be looking at replacing the clutch kit, and it is high possibility.

Hopefully replacement work will clear all the problems.

The clutch slip could be oil contamination hence the point about oil seals leaking it only takes a few cc to ruin the friction plate. Yours sounds like a well worn out clutch. It's not releasing properly (difficult gear selection) and it's slipping.

If you drive it like that you risk damaging the gearbox and the flywheel face so leave it parked until you can get the work done.

New clutch fitted by local garage, and the problem has been resolved. No more engine revving and no speed problems. Gears going in smoothly without noise.

Thank you for all your info. and advice in this thread. Much appreciated.
