I have a Fiat Panda Eleganza with semi auto gearbox. On 4 separate occasions the cars has changed down to neutral whilst slowing down. The car slows to a halt and I cannot select any gear. A mechanic connected to a computer but all tests passed with no errors. He suggested a change of fluid, this was done but the fault reoccurred after a couple of days. on each occasion the fault rectifies itself after 15 to 30 minutes and the card drives perfectly normal.
Has anyone got any ideas.

The gear shift and clutch servos develop problems over time which is very sad because I liked the auto box.

The clutch wears a lot faster as the system slips it far more than a manual driver would ever do. Maybe the clutch is wearing out causing the servo to refuse to shove the gear through. Just a guess but something to check.

Not sure what changing the fluid would achieve, but hopefully the correct CS-speed fluid was used.
Was the gearbox hydraulic pump running as usual (a few seconds every few minutes)?
Does the pump sound different to normal?
Does the pump activate as normal when you open the driver's door?
It could be a tired pump motor (the cheapest & easiest fix, as doesn't require dropping the gearbox etc.) rather than leaking seals/knackered actuators. That does give those symptoms.

It could also be excessive wear in the gearbox (usually caused by ignored gearbox oil leak) or knackered clutch (should be good for well over 100k miles if driven according to the instructions, much less if used like a traditional auto box)

Or possibly a knackered accumulator (cheap & easy fix but usually coincides with knackered pump motor).

You can diagnose it very well using MultiECUScan, using live pressure readings.

If you change the pump, change the accumulator & fluid at the same time.

The semi auto is often driven like a traditional auto resulting in rapid clutch wear. Some are shot in 20K miles or less.

Ford used the Fiat technology on some cars but its unlikely to be identical parts.
