So one of the big problems with my Panda 4x4 is that the seats are awful.

Not only are they stained, with the fabric worn through in places, but the foam is thin, they lack support, and are generally pretty uncomfortable. Even one of those lumbar support cushions only does so much.

I was chatting with my local mechanic, who's just broken a 4x4 and has a complete mint interior. I tried out the seats, and even in top condition they still lack support.

He then let slip that he had a seat of front seats from a Fiat 500, that had been in an accident. The passenger side airbag had gone off, ripping apart the bolster on that side, but apart from that they just needed a clean.

So I've spent today cutting out the passenger airbag, super gluing the bolster back together, cleaning them, and swapping them out.

They are a straight bolt in replacement, although one bolt (to the sill at the outer rear) doesn't line up - either leave it, or replace that runner with the one off the original seat, or fabricate something up.

They really do transform the car. Not only are they infinitely more comfortable and supportive, they also tip forward (only 3 doors on the 500), plus have the underseat storage bins. More supportive seats with more cushioning means you feel less of the bumps on the road - it really is an amazing difference.

Can really recommend fitting some!
