Hi There,

Looking to upgrade my 100hp suspension all round. Thinking of either going for the Bilstein B6 w/out any lowering or going for the Eibach Pro-Kit with the Bilstien b12's.

I know a few of you have talked up the B6's but has anyone tried the Eibach Pro-Kit ??

...and no, I cant really justify coil-overs :(

I’ve got eibach pro kit -30mm springs with bilstein b4’s front and koni adjustables on the back and it handles great, my front koni’s gave up after 60000 miles but the springs are going strong.

Thx Gav,

Is there any compromise with respect to the damper performance when you mate it with a lowering spring?

I would really prefer Bilstein B6's all-round & maybe using Eibachs with those.

Mike

If you fit lowering springs make sure they have the same spring rate as standard. Simply chopping a spring increases it's rate by the percentage chopped off. On a car like Panda with already quite stuff suspension that can make it skip and bounce. Fine for a billiard table race track but hopeless on normal roads.

You can expect high spec dampers to be well pat their best after 20K miles. The internals are precision parts which by then will need a service. Good quality kit should be serviceable. For example Wilbers dampers have a good warranty but only if serviced every 15,000 miles.

OEM kit is not serviceable but internals are less precision so "last longer". Meaning there is less to get messed up by neglect.

As far as I can tell

B6,B8,B12 are very similar but have different damper lengths so its best to match to the correct spring height.

But I could easy be wrong

The b4’s work really well with eibach springs and it’s only a 30mm drop, I’m pretty sure the b6’s are more like koni’s in being quite stiff to make a car feel more sporty but the 100hp is pretty stiff anyway so imho the b4’s actually improve things.

Aren't the Eibach springs a 30mm drop on a standard Panda. As the 100HP is already lowered there will be minimal difference.

Tried to find out on Eibach website. Fails on my tablet and touch screen.

It's about 50 years since I studied engineering but I seem to remember that the increase in spring rate is much greater than that if you just cut a bit off -
