Got my new Multijet 2 weeks ago, and absolutely loving it, its such an amazing car! People around is just amazed how car of this size can be a proper four-seater :)

One question though, I've noticed somewhat unfamiliar behaviour of the throttle pedal - basically I feel quite noticeable transition in engine power between totally depressed pedal and when I press it just a little (as little as simply putting a foot on it).
This is most noticeable when crawling at first gear, its very noticeable when you lift the foot from throttle, car just jerks back a little as power significantly drops.
Revs at idle seem to be ok, about 1000, and nothing else really to complain about. But I've never noticed this behaviour on other cars (ford focus and peugeot 305) i've used to drive, so I just wanted to ask - if anybody else noticed this, and if this is just a Panda "feature", or mine is faulty somehow.

Thanks in advance!

Is this the first diesel you've driven?
The more-dramatic-than-a-petrol slowdown when you lift off the accelerator is normal - the diesel has more torque when decelerating as well as accelerating!

Yes, its my fist diesel, so I was totally unprepared to this I guess
Thanks, good to know its normal :)

Just to clarify - I just wondered why there is a significant transition is just a hair-thin amount of pedal movement near the top position? I mean, power curve increases/decreases quite smoothly when I move pedal thru almost all the range, its just this tiny bit near the top(idle) position, when you move it thru it, you feel car jerk either forward or backward.

The car is brand new.

I know what you mean, i thought this too when i bought mine new, feels like it's revving itself sometimes, am i right? It will improve with mileage presumably, or you'll get used to it, have fun in it! It looks the same as mine but mine doesn't have the roof bars.
