Regularly driving the dark and very wet country roads of West and North Yorkshire at all hours i have been considering for some time a headlight bulb upgrade.

Having read the forum and comments i opted for Ring 60% Brighter bulbs as opposed to the Phillips (Cost driven really).

Also having read the tales of woe on fitting bulbs to some of the Pandas i allowed plenty of time to attempt this simple yet very space constrained task.

In short, and to let all 4x4 owners know, the swap went with little issue and completed in 15 minutes. The passanger side was tight but once the cover was unclipped and removed (very simple just pulls free from its locating lugs) you could easliy get at the bulb retaining clip and withdraw the bulb.

The drivers side was another matter, however simply remove the 10mm bolt retaining the expansion tank and move the tank carefully to one side. Once this is complete there is more room than the passagers side and repeat the process.

The results of the Ring are very posotive wth a distinct improvement in light spread on dipped beam and a further throw of forward light on full beam.

A definate recommended upgrade for those who drive on dark/unlit roads.

:p try auto bulbs direct, promotion on at moment, enter novten for 10% discount. philips extreme £22.99 with a free pair of led side lights thrown in free.
they also do the new osram 90 % night breakers.
