Hi everybody, my mom just bought the new Fiat Panda a couple of days ago, and this yellow warning light came on in the instruments panel, it looks like a car on a hill...I tried looking it up in the manual, but it isn't mentioned anywhere, I'm guessing it's a brake thing of some kind...can someone enlighten me?

BTW...the symbol might be a little different than this, since i drew it myself in photoshop.

Hello mate and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!

Yep, as above, the light indicates a fault in the hill holder system. If its a new car, then take it back to the dealer and they should fix it no problem.

Is i on all the time or only when stopped????? as i have a similar light on my truck and it indicates the hill holder is active. Only i bring the clutch to biting point it releases the brakes and the light goes out.

This light shows that the (optional) the Hill Holder is not working. If you stop on a hill, this system is there to help you pull away without rolling back, without using the handbrake and with less chance of stalling. Details are supplied in a supplement to the instruction book, which also details the ESP system (which you may or may not also have). Is your mum's Panda the Mammy (purple) model -- I think this had the Hill Holder but not the rest of the ESP system as standard?
I'll scan the page from the instructions in a tick...
Pete
