The FM stereo reception on my 06 Panda Eleganza is poor. It's quite "fuzzy" at times. My old Panda Dynamic with the same Blaupunkt CD player had crystal clear reception. I tried a new ariel which didn't make any difference so it can't be that. I don't know if there are any settings to adjust or whether its fault with player itself or maybe a poor connection? Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Please let me know if you have any ideas as to whats causing it before i take it to the dealership.

Might sound obvious but is the aerial lead connected to the back of the stereo? I ask because Blaupunkt use the silly small (coax like) leads which have a nasty habit of falling off!

I haven't actually removed the unit yet for fear of damaging it but i'll check that connection as it could well solve the problem. Will report back later. Thanks

It could be a function of the 'sensitivity' setting in the setup menu. if set to 'local' then not-so-local stations will fade out. Also, check that the 'AF' function is on, that switches to an alternate frequency for national stations to always give the clearest signal. (Off top of my head, can't recall how to do either of these, but if you want. I'll go and look)

The bad connection on my Dynamic turned out to be under the roof lining at the back end - garage job for me.

From memory, isn't plugging the aerial into the back of the radio part of the PDI?

If so, could have easily been missed....

mine's always been a bit lacking in the reception depatment too, I've checked the back of the stereo, and that the aerials in good condition, never thought to get a spanner monkey to look above the roof lining, I think my local dealer might be getting a phone call!

Update…Thanks for all your suggestions. I have checked the connection at the rear of the stereo and its fine. I’ve also tried switching to AF mode in settings, but that makes it sound worse(n). When I unscrew the ariel from the roof there is no signal, so the connection to the roof must be ok. Could this mean a fault with the fm tuner in the radio itself?

Mine works fine, shame it doesn't filter out the muppets in radio stations who do traffic announcements then leave the damn interrupt on - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
