Hi everyone,

I am considering purchasing a Panda diesel as I have read so many good things about them.

A dealer is advertising a used one that is a diesel, mated with the Dualogic transmission. I can't seem to find any information that says the MultiJet engine in the Panda can be optioned with the Dualogic transmission.

Can anyone help me? Can you actually buy these cars?

Thanks

No, that's not an option combination in the UK. Indeed I don't think the Multijet is paired with the dualogic gearbox at all, even in Europe.

I would have gone for one had they existed but apparently they don't, have you made any enquiries with the dealer who advertised it?

UK Panda catalogue says that Dualogic is only available on the 1.2 (petrol) engine.....

I rung this dealer. Its a mistake on the website. And is still there...

He wan't very apologetic - couldn't seem to believe it was HIS website that was wrong (it was). Glad I didn't make a 200 mile round trip to see a non-existent car without checking first.

I suspect FIAT never engineered the multijet for dualogic, as they only seem to be promising Dualogic with Petrol 500s, and the GP ony has it in a 1.4 petrol

It was available to the Italians as an option on certain spec MJ's I do believe when I purchased my MJ, but has been unavailable as an option since about the end of May across europe. I asked the dealer if would be possible to order one new in RHD, and he said they would not do it, so I e-mailed Fiat uk and got no reply. The dealer said it was not worthwhile due to the extra cost of engine and Duologic price, and there was no demand for it. This seems to be inline with other european car manufacturers, as lower spec Citroen C3 used to be available with the auto as an option. I can see why it has been dropped as an option by Fiat, it would appear that it never really sold where it was an option.

The 90 BHP multijet GP does have Dualogic as an option.

I seem to remember it was available early on, but as it was "new" and misunderstood it was prob dropped... the Dual logic is supposed to be able to get better mpg.....
