Hi All,

I ordered a new Panda 1.2 Eleganza from Fiat Supasaver 2 weeks ago. So far the service from them has been very good. Quoted delivery was 6-8 weeks which seems standard from most dealers. Can I ask anyone who recently bought a Panda how long they actually waited. Also I am picking the car up from Chippenham and driving back to Scotland, will it be ok to sit doing 70 on the motorway all the way home or should I keep the speed down and split the journey over a couple of days.

can't see an issue with the drive home, but as has been mentioned on other threads, get the tracking alignment confirmed before leaving, be a shame to destroy a new set of tyres on your first, long drive. delivery seems about right.

the engine will feel a bit tight, but as the miles pile on, should loosen up nicely.

before i forget, welcome to the forum!

Good choice of purchase. Personally, the panda is perfectly adept at motorway driving but a few people/big boot starts to take it's toll on hills. No problem with it coping with the journey though :D

Welcome to the Forum.

As for run home to 'God's Country' I would think you'll find the engine a bit 'tight' for the first couple of thousand miles. So on the road home try to vary the speeds and avoid sitting at high revs (400RPM) for prolonged periods.

It should cope with the long hills on the M6/M74 fine.;)

Enjoy!(y)

I agree totally with the above posts about varying your engine speed in the first thousand miles or so. Is there any way you can avoid some sections of motorway and see some of the countryside on the A or B roads? The engine will be tight but it soon loosens after the 1st thousand miles or so especially if you get the revs up for short bursts every now and again. Enjoy your Panda they really do drive great.
