any underground info? Its been around quite a while and could it be that present discounts are leading to an updated car/updated engines coming soon?

I seriously doubt it. Most likely the model will be replaced in a 2-3 years IIRC.
There was supposed to be a 2008 model year upgrade according to Fiat's new product development strategy but so far no news. I am not aware it is being shown in the Paris salon either.
Maybe problems with 500 production and new KA have slowed things down in Poland as the 500 Abarth has also been delayed.
I've seen a few renders on the web of the all new panda, takes a lot of inspiration from the 500, looks ok. Think it's due in 2011 but at the moment they're just renders, no way near concept stage yet, never mind production. Think Fiat are introducing it's new 2 cylinder turbocharged engine soon in the 500, soon to be available in the Panda apparently. Does over 100 MPG and 90grams of C02 etc (free tax). Just rumors though.

yes you are probably right but it looks pretty isn't it?
Fan-made CG model by the looks of it....
Think it's due in 2011 but at the moment they're just renders, no way near concept stage yet, never mind production.
The right timing for me to get the current style on the cheap, like when the new shape corsa came out :slayer:
