FIAT Panda 1.0ltr 3T GSE-Firefly 120 hp.

I really would buy this version of the Panda if it would come available any time soon.

Adjusted this existing Render.

Re: FIAT Panda 1.0ltr 3T GSE-Firefly 120 hp.

The chance that we will see this engine in the Panda is very small.
Rumor has it the only future engine available in de Panda will be a 69 hp (70 ps) 3 cylinder "NON" turbo GSE-Firefly with and without mHEV. (12v MicroHybrid)

Re: FIAT Panda 1.0ltr 3T GSE-Firefly 120 hp.

They will never do this and cannibalise sales of the 500S / Abarth series. It was different in the Panda 169 days before the 500 with the 100hp model.

In the UK, most people see the Panda as a car for older people sadly. So that kind of market is out of reach in countries like ours, I think.

Perhaps when the engine is released you can modify a Panda and show us the way ahead ;-)

Stick the 1.8 turbo diesel in there, I believe it can be made to fit..

The most interesting engine i would like to see in the Panda is the still under development, new 1.5ltr GSE-Firefly with 205 hp.
This engine will be use in for example the Alfa Romeo Giulia, and a hole lot more FCA cars.

Re: FIAT Panda 1.0ltr 3T GSE-Firefly 120 hp.

As the old saying goes, “there is no replacement for cubic displacement” and while a lot of small 1l engines with around 100 hp are fine, those sort of figures are easily achievable without fitting turbo and gadgets to a relatively simple NA engine with 1.3/1.4 engine.

On the flip side these highly strung turbos with tiny displacement but silly horsepower are all horribly uneconomical with much more to go wrong and 10 times more likely to go wrong.

They build little cars with small displacement engines to please the EU emissions standards and they fit laggy turbos to get respectable enough BHP figures to try and please the general public, but in all situations they are both a compromise. In every respect a modern Diesel engine knocks the socks off a petrol engine even these new types. But if you don’t want a diesel an NA 1.4 would be a much better buy. Still the future is already predicted and NA petrol engines will soon be a thing of the past

I would prefer a 1750I TB engine under the bonnet of the Panda, but that will not happen.

Re: FIAT Panda 1.0ltr 3T GSE-Firefly 120 hp.

Apparently there is a conformation that there will be a Panda Sport, like there is a 500X sport.

Hope it will get the 3T Firefly Turbo 88kW engine.
