That seat-belt buzzer! OK, I appreciate that safety's important, but that buzzer's far louder than the one in my wife's horrible Volvo ffs (and I don't believe Fiat can teach Volvo anything about automotive safety)

The 'buzzer' is used for more than just the seat belt warning. Its the same electronic sounder used for the 'tick tock' of the indicators too (try signalling or using the hazard at the same time as the seat belt warning is sounding), and also that goes 'beep' when fuel is low. Best not to try disconnecting that :)

I've noticed that I can read 'Possible...' on starting up, but the rest of the message gets replaced by 'O2' as Bluetooth connects to the phone. Seems the latter is seen as being more important! My Volvo shows a snowflake next to the temperature when its less that 3C. Maybe Fiat just assume we know that once its 3C or below, ice is possible?

Try driving a bit further or faster in the Volvo with the belt off. It starts as a discrete, gentle 'bing' - like on a plane when the steward is called. But ignore it, or drive faster, and it gets much louder and more angry sounding!

Been there, done that!

But the volume / irritation level of the Volvo's alarm is proportionate to risk. It's pretty quiet if you're trundling along quite slowly, but gets more insistent as you speed up. The Panda goes to Defcon 1 straight off the bat, and stays at that level. No proportionality. Crude. Unnecessary. Unsophisticated.

My Skoda did that. It's bloody stressful. Not that I make a habit of driving without a seatbelt...

This thread went from ice warning to seat belt buzzer. The OP has specified that he had no issues with the seat belt buzzer. Perhaps I'm being a bit pedantic. On my diesel hack I have temp' reading, no ice icon, but in my book it's obvious due to outside temperature the likelihood of ice on the road. Perhaps I'm being a bit too simplistic.....:)

As the OP, I'm used to thread drifts. Just like the snow ;)
