Hello all
Back into the Panda fold again with the impulse buy of a trekking multijet, orange of course !!
Had a few panda previously, and been hankering after another for a while
Following the worst customer service ever from a large dealership. Br***ol S***t M****s, I got a cracking deal from Wessex motors in Gloucester

So what's it like after a few days and First 500 miles....short answer Great
I went for a diesel due to fact I spend a fair time in France where diesel is tons cheaper than petrol, so a no brainer...I was concerned as a fair few reviews state that the diesel is rather loud and brash, I haven't found either true, actually quieter than my previous diesel
Performance is more than adequate for all my needs.. My daily trip to work is 70 miles return about 2/3 motorway 1/3 town
My greatest surprise is the fuel economy...I'm a bit of a tight anal git and do like to get the most out of a tankful , I brimmed tank on collection and again this eve after 496 miles... Calculator out and ......wait for it........62.4 mpg. As opposed to trip computer of 66.9 mpg
That's with a good sensible running in... From gentle to odd 85mph today

Interior just makes me smile every entry into car, and I'm 55

Anyone think of buying a trekking multijet with any questions, just ask

Sounds good, seems like you are enjoying the car.

As a potential Trekking/4x4 owner it is good to hear a recommendation for a Fiat dealer. So many seem to get a bad press. Did you go through a broker to get your cracking deal or did you just shop around?

How do you find the Trekking as a motorway car? Stability, noise levels etc. One of my minor reservations is that, with it being tall and narrow, the Trekking/4x4 could get blown from lane to lane in sidewinds!

Out of interest, were you considering any other cars?

Thanks.

I had appalling service from several dealers I contacted, I was looking for ex demo, or nearly new 4x4 diesel, most dealers spout the line of they're hard to get so e won't discount
Wessex motors were more than helpful ref a 4x4, however they had a showroom trekking in orange which was fully loaded with extras, ( climate/5 seat/heated screen /parking sensors...and more) which I as offered at a very attractive price, I had a think about Trekking/4x4 and decided for the 99.99% of my mileage the trekking would be fine, did I really need to be dragging extra weight of 4 wheel drive around
I was going for outright purchase, but deal they offered was so good I went for lease plan
The car handles well, no problems on motorways whatsoever, it is slightly taller than a normal small car but don't worry, looking fwd to my running in (how old fashioned) period finishing for a bit more spirited driving

I love it in orange. Never loose mine in a carpark!

Thanks Sleigh. I'll get a test drive sorted at some stage but of course you can't always guarantee the weather/road conditions on the day and so it is good to hear from people who drive the cars regularly.
