Hi, just picked up our brand new Panda Easy 1.2 in purple! We chose the Techno pack, but we only seem to.have the dash mount but no Tom Tom 2 live. The dealer said they think we only get the dash mount for it and have to buy it extra, but the broshore doesn't say that. Did anyone get this pack and more importantly did it come with the Tom Tom?

Hello there Big Phil!

The Fiat Panda brochure basically says this though on page 47 where all the options are listed (you will need to download it to view it):

https://www.fiat.co.uk/contactconsole/InfoRequestNewPanda.aspx

TECHNO PACK – Blue&Me™ (Bluetooth® & USB) with 10-button radio / telephone controls on steering wheel and Blue&Me™ TomTom 2 LIVE

Also page 27 of the manual describes the system itself.

Finally, if you Google Blue&Me™ TomTom 2 LIVE, you will see numerous hits which show the unit itself. So unless I am mistaken Blue&Me™ TomTom 2 LIVE is the unit rather than just the port.

If you ask me, I think your dealer is wrong. If it doesn't come with it then what exactly are you paying for?

Cheers, well that's exactly what I said to the dealer. They called today to say its in the post and indeed comes with it.:D They weren't sure how we get it I.e. direct from fiat, through parts department or came in the car. Turns out another dealer had ordered the car for their stock, so its parts dept. Gets a requisition order for a Tom Tom if the car should have it. So need to wait know till it gets sent from Italy to the original dealer then on to me. The salesman had the cheek to say when fiat send out the customer service questionnaire to make sure we give them 10/10 for everything. That's after we had to go back for the mats and the tank of fuel they promised wen we signed.

The Techno Pack is a must have, IMHO.
It looks very clean.

Fiat dealers are scored by fiat uk. If they consistantly perform poorly it can effect their back end bonuses.
Score them as you see it. If they'd put the mats in, filled the tank and Abothered to find out by themselves that they owed you a sat nav then if everything else was good then they would have earned the 10star rating.

Personally, I wouldn't be too hard on them though as it all worked out fine in the end. :)

Given the list price of the Techno Pack, the suggestion that the actual sat nav device is not included is surely outrageous.

In Italy and seeing a few new Pandas on the road it's even more anonymous and Japanese-looking than I feared - could be a Nissan. To be fair, could also mean it'll sell in even bigger numbers.

You really don't seem to like this Panda at all! Given it's competing against cars like the VW Up! & Hyundai I10 i can't see how it can be considered anonymous  Without completely redesigning the shape & losing all the Panda's identity i'm not sure what else Fiat could've done.

The Blue&Me should really be standard on at least the Panda Lounge, even if it didn't include the TomTom unit - at least you'd still get Bluetooth & USB/Aux sockets.

To add Blue&Me & steering controls to the 500 TwinAir trim it costs £380 & that definately doesn't get the satnav unit, so as options go the £400 charge for Techno Pack looks pretty good value if it includes the satnav unit aswell as the Blue&Me & steering controls. However i do think for the sake of £50 or £100, many of the options should be standard as it does make Fiat look stingy & will leave a sour taste.

I just think they could have used the redesign to make it look crisper and more refined rather than bulbous and visually (and actually) heavy - and, no, I really don't like it. I confess to being rather obsessive about the weight issue but the relentless trend to bigger, heavier, slower, thirstier vehicles is absolutely the wrong direction and, as I've remarked before, I think/hope that the 4x4 version will look better in the new blob shape. Over three quarters of the cost of producing a modern car is the cost of the raw materials, which goes some way to expalining the increased price tag - cutting 50-80 chilos from the weight would have been a much better idea. I understand the wish to create a corporate look but I don't think the 500-ish bonnet line does the Panda any favours and the Ford-ish dominant wheel arches add to the weighty appearance.

I reckon the Up (bloody silly name) looks less anonymous on the road - has a lightness about it that appeals (to me).

However, as an Italian car enthusiast (must have had about 40 as a family), I'm pleased that the consensus of the road tests seems to be that the Panda's a great little car, despite those rather disappointing performance and mpg figures.

Well for what its worth, I love the look. I'm loving the squirckles all over the place and seems quite cohesive overall and modern. As for performance and.mpg well having owned the last version panda to, o can confirm its a lot more peppy and even better on fuel and its.not even broken in yet. You can't believe what's written a lot of.the time its more.how a car actually feels on the road that counts. For example, we had two 1.2 corsa sxi's as courtesy cars just before we got this new.panda. on paper the corsa should have it beat in all areas as its more powerful and torquey. But on the road, it was jerky, wouldn't rev fully, and just felt typically Vauxhall plasticy. The wee panda has tons.more. character, revs cleanly, a hoot to.drive and feels more solid, stable and alround more sophisticated than before. All on we love it.

Glad to hear you will soon have the full kit sorted!(y)

Bit dozy of your dealer though. I do agree to a certain extent with deeyup about not making a mega fuss (you never know when you might need them to be on your side), but I don't for one second think your dealer deserves full marks for their service. Cheeky cheeky!:D

We're just in the process of buying a new Panda Lounge in Spain and we had the Techno pack and the Dealer said it included the Tom Tom but strangely it didn't turn up with the car. We didn't take delivery as we said we would wait for the TomTom and today he phoned me to say there is a problem and could we come in and see him tomorrow.
After reading the posts above I am thinking maybe he is going to tell me the TomTom is not included and he made a mistake. I have looked at the Fiat website in Spain and it seems to say that the TomTom is included. I noticed something else strange about the Style pack (I wasn't bothered but there was a problem with cars in stock before vat increase here and the colour and interior we wanted had the additional packs). If you try to configure your Panda it shows 14" alloy wheels but if you check the brochure it refers to 15" alloys - which is correct?
So what do I say tomorrow if he tells me the TomTom's not included??

Anyone else know the Spanish situation regarding the Techno pack?

By the way first post on here and we've just moved to Spain 2 weeks ago - our first ever new car in 1992 was a Fiat Panda and my wife loved it (only 5' 2" so high seating position was ideal).

Just noticed that on options you can chose 6RR which does not include the TomTom itself but 6R8 seems to show it included.

Cancel all the above - we've just been to the dealer and indeed the TomTom is included in the price of the Techno pack so no argument there. However, the problem was that when he tried to get extra discount he managed to get €317 off the pack price but Fiat didn't tell him that this was because they were not including the TomTom. So we had a situation today and we had a bit of an impasse with us saying you told us the pack was discounted and him saying yes, but Fiat didn't tell me the TomTom was left out.
In the end we had to agree to pay half of €317 otherwise we would have gone on forever.
Lesson learned.!
