i am from portugal and i have a fiat panda van 1.3 diesel and i want to know if its possible put a engine of fiat uno 1.4td in this car?

i think you would have to make your own engine mounts up.. though i am not sure.

i would love the 1.3 diesel engine in a panda.. they never came to the UK so they are very rare here.

Neither the Panda van nor the Uno 1.4TD were imported here so I'm afraid we have little or no experience to pass on.

The 1.3D was a VW Polo engine and I assume the 1.4TD was Fiat's own, therefore they would not be a simple swap.

1.3D could be also Fiat's engine, with 37 hp, like in Panda Diesel, or 45 hp, like in Uno Diesel.

Panda's 1.3d was inhouse fiat diesel,{ detuned 45hp engine from fiat 127 mk3, based on brasilian 1300 petrol engine} no vw polo ! it is not relative of seat terra 1.4 diesel .

1.4td is downsized version of 1.7, 1.9 or 1.9 td from ritmo tipo itp.

IMHO swap would be possible. Fiat used both engines (1.3D and 1.4 TD) in Uno. Assuming that this 1.3D is Fiat's engine. Probably you should ask Uno men? Did Fiat import diesel Unos to GB?

Answer: Yes, it did, but only Uno 60D with 1.7 Diesel engine. But, as Bartpanda wrote, it's the same family as 1.4 TD. I can ask on polish Uno forum, if you want to. Maybe they know, Uno was popular in Poland.

Whay kind of MPG does the 1.3d actually do? I like the fact that our little lumps do high 30s to the gallon. But more is always nice!
