I have recently changed the head gasket on a 91 Panda (without manual) :bang: . I torqued the head to 49nm, but I've been told that I need to set the valves/ tappets. Does anybody know the settings. Thanks in advance as I am fixing the car for a friend who is on a tight budget (hence no manual).

There are two different engine types in UK spec. Pandas of that age.

Is it OHC, or OHV?

Don't run it yet either way:
OHV stage 2 is 59 Nm, tightened in a specific sequence (more or less middle out).
Inlet 0.15 mm, exhaust 0.20 mm, ISTR cold. Rule of 9.

OHC is tightened in a specific sequence to a torque of 20 Nm, then 30 Nm, then 2 separate 90 degree turns further.
Inlet 0.30 mm, exhaust 0.40 mm, cold.

BTW - You can get "Haynes" from Ebay for less than a gallon of petrol, and will be help more than a few words here will.
