Hi everyone i wonder if anyone can help me.I have got a 1988 fiat panda young 750 ,it was given to me a year ago and has been running great all this time, but recently it had started overheating and loosing water but with no signs of where it was going,I checked the usuall stuff like the hoses but they seemed ok then yesterday i noticed when i was putting the water in it was dissapering but not out of the engine, when checking the dipstick the level had gone up and looked very watery also when i try to start the engine all i get is a clicking sound but nothing else.

please help with any info becouse i fear that it may be terminal

Hi Scorps, and welcome.
Sounds like your cylinder head gasket has blown.
If you are a keen DIYer, it can be fixed for about £50 all in.
For a garage to do it, it would be more than the car is worth because of the labour charges.
Time for a change of motor?
Shameless plug.... My Panda is still for sale!
All the best.
Russ.

thank you for the advice ,good plug for your panda but i`m in italy (i`m english but moved here 12months ago ) so will have to try and find a car parts place and try and get sorted will let you now how it goes

where in italy? it seems that 5-10% of the cars in junkyards are pandas so finding parts won't be hard. i don't mean that percentage literally but you'll see that there are a lot. good luck.
