It was all a bit last second as I only got a working rev-counter late on Saturday. Austen even phoned me halfway thro the first run to see if I had made it (phone was on vibrate
). He came along and videoed the last four runs

Where's the Video? for 1/4 mile that's pretty respectable....

Yep, good work. Oddly enough I was reading an old copy of Evo earlier and a new Panda 4x4 does a quarter in just over 20 seconds.

Interesting....................Damon did the terminal speed vary much ?? Bonkers theres over a second difference - I know its not much to the average eye, but after drag racing for some time, thats quite a fair variation for a manual fuel injected car

Runs 1 to 4 ~75mph, 5 to 7 ~81mph.
There were 2 main problems (three if you include the driver
). It was wheelspin city with the tyres spinning all thro 1st and 2nd. I droped the tyre pressure for run 3 and 4 which stoped 2nd gear spin and run 4 I started in 2nd :nono:.
I then found I had been short changing all da as the rev counter was over reading, I had another 1000 revs to play with:bang:. Run 5 was against the limiter in 1st and 3rd, missed 2nd first go too but was one hell of a race against a pink proton with a iron board strapped on the back :slayer:. I was so happy, it meant there was/is so much more to come.
It's also a temp strip only used 3 times a year, there are aircraft and all sorts using it the rest of the time so the surface is not dedicated strip standard. I need more practice more regulary
. It is very adictive Contemplating short shifts for 1st and using the secret weapon for 3rd and 4th, does that sound right Jen? 81mph is 'just' under the redline in third, I'm going to have to use 4th to go faster.

I just used to give it death in every gear untill the run was over, never had a rev counter in the pop
Practice does definately help, keep chipping away, you'll soon see a 16 soon I reckon - then you'll want a 15..............and thats the drag racing bug !!!!!
