Hi Guys, Andrew in South Africa here.

I have a Strada Pick-Up (Palio utility) fitted with a 1.4 8v FIRE engine with electronic Marelli throttle (44SMF8)

Was running great until one evening i got in, started and the EML light came on and the accelerator pedal failed to respond.

I fiddled around and discovered that it also chuffed on idle running rich and occasionally the cooling fan would come on.

I suspected bad earth so i cleaned all the earths and battery connections - no luck.

I was fortunate to have have stripped another vehicle for spares a few months prior to this so i had plenty spares - this is what i tried.

Swopped the following:

1) ecu/key immo module
2) throttle body
3) engine wiring loom
4) accelerator pedal
5) MAP sensor

same problem

Diagnostics (AlfaOBD) shows
codes: P1121, P1122

Live data shows the accelerator pedal is incrementing when pressed.

Throttle body is stone dead - no clicks or buzzing - any attempt to reset it with diagnostic tool results in failure.

Pressing the butterfly with my fingers whilst viewing live data shows that the throttle position sensor is working.

I have checked all the connections but I am in need of the pinouts for the throttle body and ecu (IAW 4SF)

I dont have a PWM tester so I can power up the throttle bodies independantly to test them so I am at a loss

The only other thing is that is mentionable is that the air conditioning compressor fuse popped at the same time

ANY help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Ive established that there is no output pwm from ecu to the throttle motor

The throttle potentiometers are both reading

Solved - ecu blown

Not to sure if it was the a/c circuit or the throttle body driver that was the culprit but it took out both ecu's
