my mums had 3 and got one on an 06 plate, not one rust spot so speaking from our experience we havent had the same rust problems as what everyone else has

the brand new KA is based on the fiat 500. the old KA used the same wheelbase near enough as the fiesta
only problems iv found with my gfs ka, is that around every 30k mark, the wishbones and track rod ends will need replacing. although my gf hasnt had it, rust around the filler cap is most common on these. and good luck trying to find a paint code on it! it doesnt have one anywhere on the car, took it to halfords, in case they could find it, which they couldnt, and i went to ford for them to find it, gave the car's reg etc, and they didnt have the paintcode on file!?! 
. its not a bad car though, starts everytime, gets from A-B. not the most economical, but ok for a low mileage driver.

As a ford specialist I wouldn't touch one over 3 years old. They are fun to drive around town but once 3 years old your just chucking money at it non-stop. Bills of over £1k to pass a MOT is not uncommon, even alfas can be cheaper at mot time and thats saying something!
