Hello everyone. Recently bought a 2014 Fiorino van Multijet 16v. I've got the 'AIRBAG FAILURE SEE HANDBOOK' message. The airbag light is permanently on. (It wasn't but after lots of dismantling to gain access to the instrument cluster I discovered a bit of tissue blocking the hole the LED should be shining through). I've had it diagnosed by an airbag specialist locally in Bracknell & there's an internal fault on the AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE. The replacement module from Fiat (£502+vat) & fitting (£120+vat) will be around £750.
I've looked into removing the faulty module & having it reset by crashdata.(around £80)
The specialist who diagnosed it has told me this never works.
As you can imagine for the price I'm tempted to give it a try but just wondered if anyone has any experience with getting the module reset & reinstalling it or any advice please.

I've had a good look around the site & there seems to be lots of different problems with the module but haven't found any posts specifically about what I'm thinking of doing. I'll have a look today & see how difficult it is to get to etc.
Thanks anyway.

It could be a battery drop in voltage , try it with a different battery ( leave it unplugged for half an hour then plug the newer battery ) , this will reset the ecu , take it for a drive , it might clear the fault.

The battery is brand new so hope that isn't the problem. Can anyone tell me exactly where the airbag control module is? I'm gradually dismantling the center between the seats gear stick etc console but can't see anything obvious.
Found it. Just got to decide what to do with it now! Can't find a direct 2nd hand replacement on the net so either send it off for reset or replace with fiat part.
