Greetings from sunny Portugal :)

Ducato Motorhome owner with an EML problem.

Will find my way around the forum before I post my issue :bang:

Hi and welcome :)

What age :spec ducato do you have..?

Hopefully post 2004 as earlier vans only have 3-pin diagnostics

Charlie

Hi Charlie and thanks for the welcome.

I have a 2011 Ducato motorhome. 130 Multijet (?)

A couple of months ago, the EML came on and the vehicle went into "limp" mode.
Pulled over, switched off, waited a few minutes, started up and went on my way.
Had a mechanic diagnose the EML and the fault code was P0404 which indicates EGR valve.
I had him replace the EGR valve but a few days later the EML came on again.
Called out the mechanic who diagnosed P0404 again, said it may be a faulty valve, so replaced it and, at the same time replaced the EGR radiator, as it was blocked.
No problems for a week or so but then EML came on again.
I took it to a local garage and diagnosed P04047 again, EGR valve.
They found moisture in the valve so cleaned it out and re-assembled with a new, silicone gasket. Happy days !
In the meantime, I've bought myself an OBD2 reader and EML is back on again presenting P0404 fault code again !
Obviously, I can erase the code and turn off the EML but the fault remains and the EML comes back on after a couple of hours driving.
HELP !!!!!

Andy.

On this van the EGR valve is operated by the solenoid located just below the scuttle join; coincidentally this can get dripped on!

On my van (2009 130) I also had to replace the rubber vacuum tube connecting solenoid to EGR due to it splitting and so loosing vacuum (not sure if solenoid has its own fault code or 'borrows' EGR's?)

Hi also motorhome newbie, Ducato Elnagh Clipper 90 2004 plate, bought last september as hubby diagnosed with brain tumour and so wings clipped !!!. Tumour removed Feb so now looking to fully enjoy the motorhome.
Hubby enjoying the titivating but as the only driver I want to know more about the mechanics etc of the vehicle and the thing that is really foxing me at the moment is where the hell is the leisure battery, its not in the dinette floor, its not in the engine compartment, where the devil is it ? please

Hi
