Hi all... newbie to this forum and whilst we have sooooo much time on our hands at present (covid 19 furlough) I thought the I’d clean our van conversion. Looks good now, apart from the grill frame (which is a sprayed silver metallic over black plastic), thinking the black spot was a fly, it turned out to be a stone chip and grew as the pressure washer passed over it...oooops.
Took the headlights out to get at the grill/frame, removed all the visible screws, and realise there must be plastic clips which hold the frame in.
Has anyone worked on the front end of a 2014 onwards Ducato? I’ve tried YouTube with no info. Thanks in advance. Stay busy and safe.

Hi
Hope this will help, I have a 2017 Ducato which I am about to fit a Bull-bar to as I have yet to do this I will give the instructions supplied for fitment.
Remove 2 x T30 Torx from headlights, disconnect wiring & remove headlights.
Remove 8x T30 Torx bolts from top of grill & 2x T30 plastic screw clips from bottom of grill, gently lift grill to remove taking care to lift vertically from plastic retaining clips. forward sliding of the grill WILL BREAK clips.
I think that section should cover what you need to remove the silver grill part for repainting.
The rest of the instructions are for cutting sections out of the bumpers to fit the brackets etc to mount the bar on.
Just found a PDF copy of the instructions - see attached.
Cheers

Hi Freespirit and thanks for the info. Really interesting to read. I did try to lift the frame after removal of all top and bottom screws, but I could see that the plastic retaining clips weren’t budging so stopped before I incurred more cost!
The pdf you have shows the pre face lifted Ducato to fig 3 or 4 and shows finished bulbar setup on the current model in figs 9 and 10. Impressed mind you it looks grand.
Not wanting you to break any plastic components I’d carefully check and err on the side of caution when you get round to installing... maybe double check with the supplier. I’m a measure twice kinda guy.
I’ve found a download manual but want to check it contains this bodywork element before I buy. Will keep you posted. Thanks again.

Hi Rich66
Yes I don't know why they seemed to have used pictures from the X250 model? & I wonder whether the instructions actually refer to the X250 or the X290 models. Although figure 4 is definately from a X290 front, Found this pic from a youtube Fiat Ducato production video which shows the location of the 2 ? (I think) bottom mounting lugs but can't see any others - along the headlight section?
Anyway if you work out how it comes apart it would be appreciated giving me a heads-up on the procedure.
Cheers
