Hello,
I currently have been left me down from my italian family
Fiat 127 special which we drove back from Rome it's been stood on my drive for over 7 years.. I did start / drive great tho my mechanic said engine seized, and may require a new engine,
Can anyone help pleade by pointing me in the right direction by obtaining a
Fiat 127 special engine...

Thank you

Take the plugs out and try turning the engine over by hand with a spanner/socket on the crank.

If it doesn't move with minimal force, put about 30ml of diesel down each bore and leave it for a week.

Try turning it by hand again.

Repeat a few times.

Cheers

Hi. Worth doing as suggested.

Basically most of the important engine parts are either sat in oil. Or sealed away from air.
So adding a light penetrating lubricant is ideal for the piston/ bores.

A NEW ENGINE..
would be either thousands of Pounds.. or just as well used as yours.
Palio. Or pete127 for info maybe

I don't see why it would have seized? Very unusual for a Fiat engine - one of my 127's was sat 13 years in a garden & fired straight up with new plugs/points etc!

If it has & can't be saved, your best bet is a 903cc Panda. The engines were used right up to about 1991 in special editions & will be cheap if you can find a car. Someone like Vernon VmanC is your best bet for a 903 from a Panda.

Keep us updated & plenty of pictures please!
