Hi from NZ, where I have 2 1050cc 127s, and a 1978 132 2000. I've had about 15 Fiats over the years, including 125 x2, 124 Sport AC, 132 x4, 127 x3, Tempra, Tipo, Punto... They are great cars, but many in New Zealand have no clue about what fabulous vehicles they are.
My current project is a 127 1050CL, into which I have fitted a 1300 and 5 speed from a 1300 Sport. The motor and box were imported into NZ by an enthusiast a long time ago and I bought them for the transplant. The main change was to the passenger side chassis rail, where we grafted in a new section from a wreck, to accommodate the gearbox. But now we have a problem, with the long half shaft tripode not seating and coming out of its position when the car is on hard right hand lock, making terrible grinding noises... I'm a bit stuck about what to do next... any ideas?
