Hi all
I am the proud owner of a Fiat 500 Gucci. She's two years old nearly but only travelled 2000 miles. She's been serviced in accordance with the requirements.
The other week when I braked the pedal went all the way to the floor and the car didn't slow. I immediately took it to the garage where they checked it over and told me they couldn't find anything wrong. They suggested I may have accidentally pressed the clutch!!
This happened when I had a front seat passenger.
Yesterday the same thing happened again and again it was when I had a front seat passenger.
I'm waiting to get the garage to look at it tomorrow.
Has anyone else experienced this ?

Thanks

I'm guessing here that the car is still under warranty.

Any doubts whatsoever concerning the correct functionality of the braking system, take it back to the dealership and get them to investigate it. I've done some reading and it seems that other owners of different marques of vehicle have had similiar issues. The problems ranged from internal leaks within the master brake cylinder, to air in the system etc.

When was the last time the vehicle was serviced? I ask because if a brake fluid change was carried out and it wasn't bled correctly, I'm wondering if there is air in the pipes. It's just a thought and I'm sure other forum members will add their own ideas.

You've missed a bit out of the story here.

The brake pedal went all the way down and you didn't slow down. This must have been terrifying. The stuff of nightmares!

What happened next?
HOW did you take it to the garage?
Did the brakes work again immediately after not working?
If not, how did you stop? Handbrake only?

Thanks,
Mick.
