What do your wiper/washers do?
Press the lever forward and the front jets spray but the rear wiper operates, pull the lever towards you and the rear washer works but no wipers, do the same with headlights on and the headlights washers work, can't understand why front wipers don't work when front washers used. What does everyone elses do?

You've got the pipes coming off of the washer pump fitted the wrong way round. If you've got fog lights fitted in the front bumper, removing the driver's side one should give you access to the pump. Whether it's enough access to get the pipes swapped over, I'm not so sure. The same pump works both the front and rear washer - the stalk makes the pump spin one way or the other, depending on which way you push it. Alternatively, is it possible to fit the electric connector onto the pump the wrong way round?

The windscreen washer works independently of the wipers, so in the normal way of things you need to pull towards you to squirt, then flick up or down to wipe. The rear screen wash (push stalk forwards) also works the rear wiper flick wipe

To add to WMFs accurate statements, it is possible to get the wires round the wrong way. I know because I've done it. Unfortunately it's a pig to get to and you need to take off the front bumper. Not especially difficult - just time consuming.

In the photo below the connectors are round the wrong way. Oh and where the calpol syringe is should be the headlight washer pump. [emoji2] 20181206_191026.jpeg

Thanks for all your replies, I have also looked at the handbook now, it would appear that my wires are crossed or more likely pipes on the wrong way round as the windscreen washes when you push the stalk away from the wheel, still strikes me as bizarre how the rear wiper operates automatically with a washer squirt but the front doesn't - that's the Italians for you ??

Don't swap the pipes over mate, cos if you push the wash stalk towards the screen and your fronts operate it's WIRED the WRONG way round, it should operate the rears when you push and the fronts when you pull.

Finally got round to having a look, took the foglight out and swapped the pipes round - now when I push the stalk away from the steering wheel the rear washer squirts and theres one wipe at the rear, pull it towards the steering wheel and the front squirts but you have to flick the stalk to deploy the front wipers.... I'm happy with it now.

On the Multipla, that is exactly how it should be. Happy Days :)

I've never figured out why the Multipla splits windscreen wash and wipe into separate actions. It's the only car I've come across that's set up like that.
