Hi, I am new to posting so please bare with me... I have a 51 plate 1.6 Multipla that I picked up a few weeks ago. I have a few issues I am looking for help with, the main one being that 2 days ago the Eng Ctrl faulty warning and engine management light came on. It has a little shudder now and again but not much and does loose a little power some times mainly on hills.

Had it plugged in and got codes p0300, p0170, and p0202. Have been told this points to injector issue.

Whilst writing this I had to pause and go for a quick trip in the car, it still lost a bit of power on a hill and still had a little shudder but no warning or engine light?

The only thing that I did to the car today was fill a little whole on the exhaust with putty. To be more specific when I got under it today I noticed that the prev owner has tried to repair the seal on the flexi part of the pipe with putty and welding (I know right). I filled around it with putty to try to temp repair it while I try to fix the earlier mentioned issue. Could the damaged flexi be the cause?

The other issue is that I noticed after about 2 hours of driving on the day I bought it that the temp gauge was climbing up as far as 5 bars and that sometimes it would read zero bars. I changed the temp sensor and tested the thermo but still happening. Also discovered that the fan is not kicking in at all, tested by shorting it to the bat and motor works?

Sorry if this is listed wrong and a bit long winded and thanks in advance.

Hi the p0300 fault code is a random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
the p0202 is injector cylinder malfunction cylinder 2
and p0170 is fuel trim malfunction (bank 1)

I had the p0300 fault code on my multi with the car down on power and a misfire I replaced the coil pack and now runs great. I also had the other codes you mentioned the p0170 and p0202 on a fiat stilo estate I had and a mate of mine who is a mechanic checked the wiring to the injectors and found a chaffed wire might be worth a look before you spend any money
