Im replacing the head on my 1.6 16v -00
And as far as i can find out the head bolts (RIBE M12) is supposed to be tightend i 4 steps 20Nm, 40Nm, 90degrees and 90 degrees, but im wondering if that is correct.
Because i have also seen information that i shall run the engine in between the 90 degrees tightening?
But is that for an older engine because then i have to fit the belt and camheads before i can run the engine and then have to remove them againg to be able to do the 90degrees.
Have i got information about the wrong engine? My cams are mounted in separate housings fitted on top of the head and i have to remove them to be able to reach the head bolts. Are there another tightening procedure on that engine?

And furthermore i can fint the tightening torque for the camshaft housings they are fitted with 10pcs torx bolts each. On my old head somebody had messed with it and destoyed the threads on 4 of them and i dont want to do that...

That's an exlnt site! no i had not seen that, but still i cant find any torques for the cam boxes only head bolts/pulley bolts and crank bolt everything but the cam bolts...

How about this?

I've saved it form a Bravo/Brava manual that some kind person scanned and put on the web some time ago. You'll have to check that it's the same engine as in the Multipla. Unfortunately I can't find the original link to it now, so this will have to do.

There's about another 10 pages covering the 1.6 engine. I can save those and post thme here if you think you'll find them useful. The whole manual is a very large PDF file so I don't think the forum will thank me for putting it on their server!

Yes, great! "camshaft housing bolts 15Nm" i thing thats exactly what i was looking for, and the engine seems to be the one i got with the plastic inlet.

Now i understand how they had broke the threads, 15 Nm isnt that much and the bolts where the threds wasnt broken on was stuck like hell, more like 115Nm!! many thanks!
i probably will find use for the rest but isnt there a way to put it in guides or is there a publication issiue?
