Hi

Wife has a 2001 petrol multi - the interior fan has packed up - done a bit of searching on here for an answer, seems there's a few variations as to what's happened depending on what climate control the car has.

Our Multi is a basic, non-air-conditioned version so would that make any difference to the diagnostics....

First thing to check is a connector block you can access from the n/s footwell just behind the bottom centre of the facia close to the heater motor.

Give it a wiggle - if the fan comes on give the connections a spray of contact cleaner.

Hi there - no go with that - took it all apart looks fine to me, checked all the connections, put it back together again & it's still not working...

Can the actual fan switch malfunction? Is it easy to get to the back of the dial that you turn?

Cheers!

Check that there's actually a live feed to the connector block. Assuming there is, it's possible that the spring loaded fan motor brushes have stuck in the guides. Sometimes a rattle with a hammer shaft can shake them loose, but it's usually a temporary fix...

Be prepared for a lot of swearing if you have to remove the motor.:bang:
