If it's just a auxilary belt then it will usually run; air conditioning, power steering, alternator, and water pump. You should probably find the cause of the damage to the belt though, as you dont want the same happening to the new one.

Seems it's the crankshaft pulley breaking down so this needs replacing.
Can anybody confirm the following:
1. If the pulley is a dealer only part
2. If the pulley is keyed or needs to be set especially when putting the auxilliary belt on?
Cut the belt off and drove home with no power steering, which was quite a workout!
Planning to do the work saturday so will try to get some pics for the club.

If its the Sepentine belt, I'm 71 and did it no probs, I also replaced the tensioner pully while I was there. Other info here. There is a difference between AC and non AC.

I've got A/C so will order the correct belt and c/s pulley from shop4parts. Seems to be around £90 as opposed to £120 from FIAT. Seems it's also reccomended to replace the 4 Ribe bolts on refit. At 67p each I may as well. Will also take a look at the tensioner and see if that needs replacing at the same time.

I found a bit / lot of ' slogger ' on the bearing of the tensioner and decided to renew, bought mine from EuroParts. I didn't have to remove anything just slacked off on the alternator adjuster, feeding the new belt on under tension was a bit of a chew.
Nowt to be afraid of, if a doddery old coffin-knocker like me can crack it - you'll have no probs.
I'd shop around a bit if I were you. I've just had my aux belt and tensioner (AC model, diesel) replaced for £93 including VAT and fitting
Just to say I got this all sorted.
The pulley I got from shop4parts had a thinner inner section so I had to get shorter bolts. Needed a new tensioner also. Belt was a pig to get on. However I got a socket and bar on the tensioner and attached that to the front section of the car with some strong cable ties to keep the tension off. Then a ratchet to turn the crankshaft and finally got the belt on with a technique like putting a chain back on a bicycle.
Worth noting that I've had a judder when pulling away that I put down to the clutch being worn. Seems this has completely gone now the new pulley is on.

Good glad you're sorted, told you feeding the new belt on under tension was a bit of a chew
I had the same problem.
Do you mean you replaced the crank pulley as well as the belt and tensioner? I've had a judder on pull away for a while and you've got my hopes up!
