Hi Guys, I have read the related OBD2 threads on here which suggest Multipla's are OBD2 compliant. However I just really need to rule it out as an issue for certain.

I have a 2000 1.6 Petrol engined base model Multipla.

I am trying to connect to it with an ELM327 Adaptor and TouchScan software. However I get a message back saying "vehicle is not OBD2 Compliant"

The vehicle is away at the moment but I will also be trying my other Vag Com cable on it tonight with FiatECUScan software. However I really would like to get my touchscan software (which is all paid for and legit) working as it has some features I would like to use.

What's making me wonder about the compatibility is a thread about other models which suggested if you have a flashing injector light on the dash at startup you have a non-obd2 car and if you have a flashing yellow engine at startup you have obd2 compliance. I need to check but I am pretty sure I have the injector symbol at startup.

Many thanks in advance for any help!

I will depend on the import regulations in NZ.

For cars sold in the UK:

Petrol cars sold from 1st January 2001 and diesel cars sold from 1st January 2004 must be OBDII compliant.

Thanks, with regard to import regulations I don't think NZ required/requires any standard. From a practical perspective I would have thought Fiat would swap all Multipla's at some point (probably a bit before the deadline) to make life easier as a manufacturer.

Does anyone know if this was the case and if so when it happened?
