Hi forum peep's,

I am looking into the possibility of sourcing a manufacturer of rear subframe suspension bushes. Zotye Auto in China has taken all the tooling from Fiat to build the Multipla for the Chinese market. These could be a supplier. I just wanted to know how much people would be willing to pay, considering how much a subframe is. Would £150 for four bushes be too much. Your thoughts please.

Just to add, I have been intouch with a uk supplier of auto suspension bushes. Made from ploy rather than. rubber.I have to have a sample to send and some measurements from a subframe. Does anybody in the Co Durham area have a rear subframe I could have? Please post and let me know.

I have seen on another thread that the vectra bushes can be fitted for around 90 quid so I recokon that's the ball park figure to go for.

I also had a conversation with a mechanic at my local garage and he tells me that the Punto has exactly the same problem. Therefore the the number of cars that are now reaching the age where sub frame bushes become an issue must be on the increase.

Any after market manurfacturer will want to have an idea of the potential market before tooling up for production.

Good luck with the negotiations.

Cheers,
Tom.

Thanks Tom,

The Vectra bushes have to be machined, want I would like is a direct replacement bush set. There must be some cross over within the fiat parts group somewhere. I can not see Fiat producing one bush without any other application. This would not be cost affective.

I reckon that contacting the suppliers for the Chinese version would be your best bet - no idea how you might trace them though, but as the Multi has a dedicated band of followers in Europe who will need parts to keep them going, if you can find them it might be a nice little earner.

After much searching on the net I found a contact for Zoyte Auto. As yet I have not had a reply but I will keep trying. Im doing it for all the multipla owners out there.

I did mine and used a bravo/brava bush. its all documented on here and on multipla owners. I did have to slightly dress the subframe to make the bush fit but nothing too serious.
