Have recently got hold of a Multipla and it holds 2 faults found out by attaching Alfadiag edc157 ecu , so its a 2000 jtd model I am talking about . The two codes say one is a preheater , I take it its a glowplug out and the other is OVERBOOST pressure sensor. So having a look through the threads here I and my friend have cleaned out the Map sensor and blocked off the the intake and entrance to the EGR SYSTEM , Ihaven,t been able to give it a blast yet and have cancelled the codes so hopefully on the right tracks?
Would it be necessary to purhase a lic for this Fiat ecu scan tool to work properly?

Would that be the EGR valve that has a rod to the turbo, If it is the rod moves fine and the tube to a sensor seems fine but would need more info about the contraption the red pipe is on , is this the overboost sensor by any chance?

No.

This is the 'actuating rod' attached to the vacuum chamber which is linked to the turbo over-boost valve (small black unit under the airbox) via the red tubing as you suspected. There is also a black pipe, that delivers the vacuum, attached attached to the OB valve which has a micro filter within it that may be worth cleaning - with care!

The EGR on your model is situated on the exhaust manifold.

Thanks for your reply, I will look for this valve , under the air box you say?
What is the electronic device that has the red pipe and some wires on it is that the valve, the actuator rod moves ok so I would assume thats fine.
The overboost valve must also have to be an electronic device for it to be detected as a fault logged on the ecu, so am I talking about the same thing which the red pipe goes to from the actuator down by the radiator?

Can anyone tell if its only the bought version of Fiatecuscan that works on everything properly as it doesn,t work on the Multipla?

1]*2]*You are correct; 3] Yes- it is a solenoid controlled valve.

I believe that the early Multiplas are not EOBD compliant.
