Bravo (Classic) Fiat Bravo 155 HGT

Introduction

Hey folks,

Did a deal with Bushboy yesterday and now own his old Bravo 155 HGT :slayer:

You can read about it when he had it here: https://www.fiatforum.com/members-motors/337865-fiat-bravo-hgt-155-a.html

Nothing really to say yet but thought I would start up a thread to post updates to as and when they happen..

I don't really have a plan to make lots of changes to it at the moment but we will see how it goes. Right now I am thinking i might change the wheels but to what i am not sure, but think 16s would look better than the 15s. And tempted to try get the back a little lower to match the front.

Here is a few photo's, sorry my pics aren't as professional as Bushboy's, They are taken on my super old phone - In future i will try get some with a proper camera

I knew it was a good conversion in the Marea, actually wanted one for a few years but never found a good one i could afford.

Hmmmmmmmmm I may need to look into this for future plans maybe lol.

You couldn't stay away from the Fiats, could you Blu?
Always loved the Bravo, a friend of mine had one but it was the 1.2 12v.
Was looking to buy one myself before buying my Punto sporting, but failed to find one. Still happy though. Anyway, good luck with it! Hope you're having fun with it (y)

its all a bit grown up for me but yeah its great... the 5pot makes the best noise, its proper addictive. It is in great condition, just some bits feel a bit tired - I am planning to go through it and replace rubber bushings and stuff to tighten it all up and make it feel more new again.
I recently bought bushes for the gear linkages, and the rear gearbox mount - just need to find sometime to fit them. But planning to change all the suspension bushes end engine mounts and stuff like that. Just do a few at a time until everything is all new.

Normal bushes or are you going to upgrade? My Punto needs a suspension overhaul, i think i'm going to get some poly bushes + KYB/Bilstein dampers.
Im going for the K.I.S.S. formula this time as the car doesn't get used much.

I have read all the threads on it, I had before i ever bought it, I also have a massive pile of history which i have recently organised into date order... Its been a few years and about 30k miles since it had belts etc (3 years if i remember correctly, was when Angelo had it). Granted this is not as long as the service interval states but one of the idlers or tensioners is making a noise and if i am taking some of it off then i might as well just change the lot and be done with it. Can't see the point in working out which one exactly it is and just changing that and not changing the belts.
Likewise, it doesn't need a new rear gearbox mount either but thats just the start of my renewing all bushings on the car - can't afford to buy all the engine/gearbox mounts in one go so got that one for now (well i had already bought it before i started getting a nasty bearing noise).

After I have done what i have so far I am gonna start on either renewing all the suspension bushings or overhauling the brakes, braided lines and full caliper cleaning and rebuilding and fresh fluid. Again, not really needed but to me the whole car is in great condition but feels a bit tired and needs a freshen up.

Also to add, iirc, the water pump wasn't done when the belt was last done anyway so defo worth doing now. Could be original.

In other news, look what i found - need a good scrub up but they are in decent condition, no cracks or anything (y) :D

And yes that in the background is a bravo/a Technical manual on CD - I bought that recently and shall upload to download section soon cause I am nice like that.. My upload speed is too slow though and it keeps timing out. So will have to wait until I am visiting someone with proper internet connection lol.

Don't know if your still looking for part 17 in your diagram bellow blu but there is a new one on Italian ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281674994311

Well got almost complete airbox setup from CFREITAS delivered by UPS (many thanks Carlos!) - As a result I think i got a little bit of a taste of how this car is gonna be lol.. The old mutilated airbox came out easy enough - just lifted out the top no problem. Tried to drop the unchopped airbox back in and it was never gonna go.... Had to jack it up and take the wheel off and pull the inner arch out to get it into place, right faff lol.

Looks much better (y) forgot to take a pic though, will do soon.

Does anyone have item 1 on this pic?

I also don't have 12, 16 & 17 - not sure what them brackets are for, anyone?
