Bravo Belinda the New Bravo T-Jet

Introduction

Hi,

New member to the forum, and after loads of different vehicles I am now so very happy in my new car. It's the first car I've named in the 8 cars I've owned, which is embarrassing but I love her so much.

Belinda most of the time, but then Bella when I'm giving her a spanking and having some fun :p

Anyway, after looking around for a while I settled for a 120 T-JET Active. Which is neither the fastest plus it's bottom of the range. But overall I'm super happy. I ideally wanted either a diesel or at least a Dynamic spec. But looking on the bright side this 120 T-Jet is in a lower insurance group, it's really good on fuel and £4,500 for a car with 16,000 miles was a price I couldn't let someone else have! As far as I'm concerned, it's a near as dammit brand new :p

I'm hoping to do some subtle mods over the coming years but it's going to be a slow process as my time is very limited. Anything recommendations for good mods to these cars?

Anyway, here are some pictures :)

Thanks for reading.

So your offset is 5mm off what it should be, pluss half of the extra 1/2" on your rim wide, 6.35m, you clearences are 11.35mm or nearly 1/2" less than they should be if you have the standard 15/16/17" rack.

I think the offset is 1mm less inward than normal 17s so they will have rims 5.35mm further in and 7.35mm further outwards with the actual tyres sitting almost the same. I rather suspect the official 18s are configured in such a way as to avoid the wheels protruding too far from the wheel arch which may well not meet regulations(?). I guess that they will probably be fine and for the reason of clearance a better choice than fitting OE 18s (which the handbook is very clear that you cannot do after the fact) I don't know if the rack is the only mod to fit 18s, cars with factory fit 18s actually have a different body code but short of scouring eper all the way through who knows?

Yeh but I don't think it's a big deal just an extra letter to indicate the factory fitment of 18s, have to say that this actually relates to a delta but I believe that bravos will be the same perhaps a bravo owner on 18s can confirm?

See the attached pdf for Bravo bodywork codes:

Mine has the factory 18's, what do you want to know?

HID's fitted, hopefully now I can see in the rain. It's been a nightmare down the country lanes over the last two weeks in the dark. It just felt like every other person coming the other way over powered me.. anyway, I hope this solves it.

Some poor photos :p

I will get some better photos up soon to show the differences at night. (y)

When you fitted your hid kit, i hope you also installed automatic levellers and headlight washers to keep it legal ;-)

I knew that was coming! :p

For the purposes of this thread, yes I did indeed fit those parts. ;)

Although, it's a good positive these are projector headlights. A lad at work has fitted 7000k HID's in his reflector lights on his Corsa Limited(Common) Edition :nono:

Here's the comparison photos, although there are differences it's not major... Driving around you get a better feel for it.

Today, everything came together nicely and the outside (for the time being) is finished!

Work done;

Eibach Pro-Kit fitted
Bilstein B4's fitted
Team Dynamics Savage fitted

The Eibachs are only a 30mm drop, so the overall affect on the aesthetics is minimal - but noticeable all the same. The Bilsteins are actually built to OEM specifications, but in reality come up roughly 10% firmer and 10% shorter - this combined with the quality of the bilsteins has resulted in me lowering the car without affecting the comfort in anyway. From a comfort perspective, the car is much unchanged. Handling feels tighter, but I've not really driven the car hard enough to test any performance difference just yet.

Thus far, the alloys have been a great success. No issues with rubbing or with clearance at full lock. These may be the wrong offset, but with the correct centre bore and stud spacing there was no issues fitting, no spigot rings, no wobbly bolts and the results are that although they are aftermarket - they feel spot on. I chose Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance for the fronts, and Sailuns for the rear. Again, I've barely ran on them as of yet but so far I'm really pleased with the sound levels these give off. The Goodyears should be fine, but I took a chance on the Sailuns based on their good tyre rating and positive reviews in the USA. With both of these tyres in the A-B ratings for both MPG and wet road grip, I'm hoping they are going to give me good MPG's and be decent in the wet.

On a side note, I've not actually washed the car today. I gave it a full detail session last weekend and it's not rained this week so the car was just "dusty". I give it a real fast jetwash, let it dry during F1 and then ran around it using Autoglyms "Rapid Detailer" which can be used with a couple of cloths to clear dust, debris and general marks, as well as supposedly topping up waxes. I'm really pleased with the results considering I've not actually washed the car.

If you have read this far, good for you! Cause I can waffle for England. Picture time! Now it's worth noting the rear end looks high due to the hill we live on, it looks pretty even on the flat. Also, eagle eyed viewers will see the Alfa badges I have put on the alloys - this was just because I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket names and I have two sets of 156 alloys. Shall I keep them, go back to Team Dynamics, or have some Fiat ones made up?

Thanks for looking :)

I also have the t_jet 120 active ,(few threads down ,some pics ) ,really like it ,being my first car ,(LATE learner ) I have a sentimental attachment to it aswel ,my next purchase will be a spoiler for back ,and your wheels look really good buddy

Thank you for the kind comments :)

It is due to the hill the car is parked on, it looks fairly spot on in regards to levels on the flat. Although it wouldn't surprise me as it was high originally.

I might get some spacers eventually, but unless you spend decent money on hub-centric ones then you are stuck with the rather less successful generic spacers. For the time being I'm going to recover and focus on the engine :p

if you went for aftermarket did you not get a chance to go for a bigger offset?

Picture of the car at work on the flat. I'm fairly pleased with the stance as it is currently.

Anyone got any ideas to further tweak the exterior and finish it off?
As we Black Country lads say. That's bostin that is. Maybe an exhaust tip? Also get he windows chromed like the dynamic/sport models. I'm doing the same as you. Dropping the body. I'm keeping the dynamic alloys and refurbing them anthracite and I'm also getting an exhaust with a similar tip to the sport models. (May or may not get a spoiler too)
