Grande Punto iPunto90's Grande Punto 1.4 T-jet Sporting, Black!

Introduction

Hi everyone! :D

Here's my member motor thread on my Sporting, i'd been looking for a AGP (Abarth Grande Punto for you newbies) and having looked i couldnt find a nice example with reasonable mileage for less than £9000+ at the time so as cool as Abarth's are it was steep so i decided to get a Tjet and make it my own!! So basically heres the story and update!

I bought the car from TJ Vickers from Telford in June 2012 for £5000 with 37,000 miles on the clock! It's so much better than my previous Grande Punto (1.3 dynamic), It looks so much better and was the best looking Sporting i saw whilst looking around, the customer service at TJ Vickers was fantastic, having to travel 2.5 hours from blackpool to get there the salesman put sold signs on the car because of the travel and reserved the car for me! (plug over with).

It's so much better than my old car, insurance hasnt really gone up, it looks alot better being a Series2 with the dark headlights, the silver dashboard, carbon dash surround, new silver dials, the thicker steering wheel and gearstick and of course THE SEATS! It obviously sounds ALOT better than my diesel and the performance is AMAZING from a little 1.4, i've had the car 8 months now problem free and even today the performance amazes me and my friends!

Got BIG plans for it but for now.. Here how it was when i picked it up! (y)

Loving the motion pics. I keep trying to get people together i know to do this with mine. But they all think i'm a loser and aren't interested in helping me haha :D

Looking forward to seeing the new colour Abarths. Are you going to colour code the wing mirrors to match again, or not?

Thank you for all those comments and the pictures of my much awaited Abarth Alloys are here!! :)

I decided to take my time and make sure i did a good job so as always.. preperation time! I decided to go for a Satin Black rather than a Glossy Black as i had tried Gloss Black on my previous punto and it looked a bit chavvy but i think the finish on these one's look absolutely AMAZING and my car looks 10x's better, so.. your opinions?! :)

Alsooo i was having a gander on the Abarth forum as i had a strange popping whenever i revved the engine and have resolved the issue with a brilliant little mod for anyone with a T-JET.. http://www.abarthforum.co.uk/gp-abarth-tuning/blow-off-mod-how-to-incs-sizes-and-whats-needed/ you have the sound of a Dump Valve for a fraction of the cost and Its REALLY Dumps LOUD! :D a nice cheap little mod! :) Here's a sneak peak under the bonnet as ive never really shown it!

Just to clarify, this popping noise you had? Was it a couple of seconds after revving the engine? Mine does it :(
Did this mod get rid of the pop? Cheers in advance.

Yeah, if i was sat still revving a second or two after i stopped you'd hear like a pop/'dunk', luckily this little cheap mod works and gets rid of that annoying pop and actually makes the car sound even better as it makes the dump valve noise! :) happy to help! (y)

Sounds like the exact same problem! Did you use the filter recommended and the samco pipe?
Thanks for the reply! Lovely car as well by the way! Love the new colour wheels :)

No all you need really is the bung as it shows in the picture and as for the filter i just used a bit of netting from say a window or similar about 2x2 inches and just get a small jubilee clip and put the netting over the open pipe and tighten the jubilee clip really tight around the pipe to keep the netting on and hey presto! you have what people think and sounds like a dump valve.. it sounds awesome!
Thanks by the way too buddy, the wheels look better in person aswell! I have big plans for it once i start my new job!

Car's looking good pal, although personally I preferred the alloys white rather than black on black, each to their own of course!

Cheers thanks! i think deep down i miss the white, its just the crappy paint i used flaked and they were dirty all the time, by the time i get round to doing the entire car up i will go back to the white alloys as they looked cool and show off.. much like me! ;) aha!
