Stilo My Stilo Multiwagon JTD the S-Wagon lol

Introduction

Well if you have seen my other marea weekends and my old punto you will know this is just the start.

So after weeks of looking and after i was going to buy another car but i had to spend money on my house this popped up, from fellow forum member, i drove to birmingham to view it and left a deposit and collected it 2 weeks later, i am over the moon with it, just need to give it a good clean sort a couple of small niggles and then start on the mods, here are some pictures

and what a joy to drive, returning 60mpg and its very smooth and quick when it needs to be, my insurance was cheaper and my tax is very cheap. so now the modifications i have planned.

first up it will be lowered next month, then i shall re-furb the wheels in a anthacite colour, de-badge it, twin 3" exhuast for now, and then i shall probably leave it until teh winter is over, but my plan is too run rotiform blq wheels or xxr 527 wheels and get it stanced right, i am going to have the engine covers flocked and some of teh interior too, going to add a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge to the a pillar, and a volt and amp gauge to my cupholders, probably change teh gear knob for a new one and fit my drilled and grooved discs that i already have. then just get it really clean and enjoy it but thats my plans the wheels may not happen as i do like the wheels that are on there already, either way it will be clean and low.

cheers

so i had some free time and fitted my gauges into my stereo surround, although best laid plans and all, the boost gauge does not fit properly as there is no space behind the panel for the boost pipe to come off propely

and there not very clear from the driving position

so i went back to my original plan, to mount them on the a pillar i already bought a apillar moount a universal one but it was not even close and i have to literally cut the pods off, but i used a hot glue gun and stuck them on whist i sat in the car so i could them to look correct

i used some clear plastic to fill in the gaps

then added some filler

sand like crazy and paint matt black

its not finished, but i am thinking of what to have done with it, i may even make a mould so i can make a full a pillar with no joins, i also have a friend that does carbon fiber so may have a carbon fiber one done, or have it flocked or covered in leather (already have the quote for this) so still deciding what to do.

also i made these novelty dust caps, thinking i want to do a set of r2d2 ones though lol

the a pillar is now flocked, came out really good, extremely happy with it so i am gonna do the passenger a pillar now to match and the stereo surround, climate panel and ash tray to follow

during the flocking process

looks very cool, is it hard to do ????

not hard really time consuming and the glue takes around 24 to 30 hours to dry properly then you get rid of teh excess from the part you flocked as if you try to do it before it may end up removing some of the flock from the glued area which you don't want (and happened top me when i was practicing) i do have a gearstick surround for the marea flocked if your interested? ;)

i have just started working my way through the faults, when i bought this car although almost mint there were a few small issues that i thought i could fix, but i have been too busy using it to fix them, but i have started to work my way through them.

1, foglights not working - fixed, fuse and 1 bulb gone

2, horn stopped working - fixed, new horn and associated wireing

3, tracking out - fixed, hunter laser wheel alignment and 3 new tyres

4, headlight washers not working - fixed, turned out to be a fuse

5, heater blower only works up to certain speed, been doing my research likely culprit to be the heater blower fan, going to order on in the new year and fix that.

6 alarm didn't work then did, then didn't - after reading as much as i can the likely culprit sounds like the alarm siren, will get this fixed soon.

7, pre heat warning - now i was told by the previous owner that it was the relay, but i took that with a pinch of salt and l knew what i was doing, so bought myself a voltmeter to test the glowplugs going to do this over the weekend and then get it sorted.

8, sunroof blind - did work but the motor looks to have failed, i have checked the fuses and there fine, i have one i can get, but i am gonna take my motor out first and check it over, i will make it work again

thanks

robin

preheat warning on my old jtd was just cause wire had worked loose on one glowplug, access is a bugger so might never have been pushed on properly in my case. fingers crossed its that simple on yours.

Fingers crossed dude, apparently, its not the plugs according to the last owner so fingers crossed it is a relay or wireing check fuse f04 last night (when i got my headlight washers working) and f04 is fine.

if it is plugs though I will get them done

Are you going to flock the AC controls facia? Would finish it off nicely, unless pressing the buttons would make the flock run away it something?

well my plan is to take the plastic front off the climate control and flock the plastic panel so the buttons will be unaffected.... maybe over christmas, as i have the stereo facia already done waiting to be fitted, going to do the steering cowling too, the passenger a pillar and then drop the roof liner to have that done in black suede and also dye the sunroof blind :).... all interio bulbs i shall replace with smd with resistors too :) also thinking about changing my steering wheel to a nardi item, trying to update the inside a little and then move to the outside

You're on a similar idea as me, I'm going to retrim the creamy-white pillar trims and roof in black alcantara but was thinking of fitting roof lights off an Audi to blend in with the black. What can you do with the grab handles to blend it in? Also what is a nardi steering wheel?

The Grab handles can be flocked too.... which is what i will do buddy, Mardi Steering Wheels is a make, check it on ebay, there pretty nice i had a omp deep dish one in my last last car which was lovely but fancy a nardi this time as it will go with my interior better
