You tend to find most Audi's are RWD - so have to be beefed up to hold a cage for the diff etc etc

The punto's fronts as like any other car designed to crumple up in an accident
Metal can be replaced - people cant

the rear probably was warped - boot pan - rear structural
The punto IMO - performed flawlessly - it did what it had to
Disipate the energy to protect the occupants

Both go back to the picture of the Audi, and look at the shape of the rear quarter above the back wheel, you'll seen that this area has crumpled quite badly, basically it did quite a lot of damage to the Audi and completely remodelled the shape of the boot, the Audi was written off as well

i dont see how the audi could be a write off, probably still normally drivable

what a bizarre comment - it doesn't take alot of damage to write a car off these days you know. With the arch all creased like that i wouldn't be surprised if that rear wheel is not straight anymore..

Just because something is drivable doesn't mean it not beyond economical repair, look at the picture and read what I said in my last reply
