500 My TA Lounge in Volare Blue.

Introduction

Just picked up today:

You can just about make out a tiny little crease in the rear wheelarch of the last pic - I noticed this on collection of the car, and it was pointed out - this is going to be repaired, and the Italian flag wing badges will go on at the same time. The dealer were very apologetic and assured me the damage wasn't there on PDI, so it must have happened on the way to Central London where I picked it up - ho hum, these things happen!

Getting used to it - it's a big change from an Alfa 156 V6, but it's bloody nice :)
I'd definitely go for the leather on the 500S, the black interior with textured fabric is a cross between bubble wrap and a bin liner.

Was a 1000 euro to have leather on my S so needless to say I went for the bubble wrap! It's actually fine and much better then the old sport seats IMO. Would have liked a red or burgundy leather but not available, having said that I was never that impressed with the quality of the leather in the 500 particularly if you're spending a grand!

I have the old Sports seats and they look nice when clean but the silver quickly gets grubby and slightly yellow even after cleaning and it's awful for watermarks so the bubble wrap probably is a better choice.

I also think leather adds something to the resale value of the car. A lot of fabric seats can look shabby and stained after a few years, leather just improves with age...

bgunn The leather seats came on Wednesday and I fitted them today. Just a couple of questions, a) how did you fit the underseat storage? and b) do you have a bracket in the centre of the back seat? I think I must be missing one as my backrest is insecure in the middle (my old one was not split folding).

Leather seats must be like buses, you wait ages then more than one turns up...

Mmm, that new style leather interior looks very nice. I wonder if the fact that the seat squab and backrest panels have seams in will stop the sagging that the old plain, flat panels were prone to.
