Grande Punto col7104's Grande T-Jet

Introduction

Well, the ten week wait was certainly worth it :D. Coming from the Seicento this thing feels like a Roller or something hehe, though I find the seats give me a backache after a few hours of motorway driving.

Optional sub was well worth it - you're not going to get real deep bass from it (for you audiophiles) but for what I need it for it's perfect.

Has an annoying rattle when going over bumps, coming from behind me...need to look into that one.

But on the whole, love it. Here's a few pics to get the ball rolling, though if you've seen one you've seen them all...

What a nice chap for helping you out!
I bet your going to tell me it's your dad or something? lol
Looks amazing mate, proper love it. guess you like red cars then? Me too ;)
What drop are you going to end uphaving on the coilys then do you reckon?

Yeah I have noticed the vibrations when accelerating. Back feels very hard too but hoping that'll get better once it's raised. Haven't a clue what final drop will be - whatever looks good lol.

Gave it it's first wash today. Those wheels are a biatch to clean...Mjet wheels must be even worse!

And yes, very nice to work on...though you do get a decidedly wrong feeling taking apart a week old car:D

Cheers for the comments (y)

Slammed and rubbing everywhere:

And today I got it tracked, then some rubber put on the new wheels and fitted them:

They're Compomotive CXT 18 in x 8J finished in anthracite. For anyone wanting similar, the offset is ET48. Clears the shock strut, as the parts manager at Fiat put it so gracefully, by a gnat's cock width. Can probably get away with 3mm spacers, which are on the way just in case I decide to do that.

Shame the weather's so crap - would have got better pics...and lowered it slightly too as I raised it too much.

Tune in next week for your next instalment :D Working 7-6 on weekdays means I can only do so much every weekend :(

Well, slight relief I suppose - I was rather worried the wheels would look pants!

Damn, blow my mod cover why don't you! :D It won't be intercooler next week though, that'll be another few weeks yet. Plus, I think it was wise not going for 8j...if I hit a bump while taking a fast corner, it'll scrape on something. Has slowed it down a bit too acceleration-wise, but that's more a case of wider tyres than rims I suppose! I think you have more than enough power to steer round that problem anyway :D

Got some half decent pics today while the sun was out:

I was impressed with grip as standard, but these Contis (ones you get with Abarth SS's) are amazing. It takes wet corners faster than the old Sei would in the dry.
