quick 20 years ago, not now :)

at least another unoT is getting saved, you are going to save it arent you?

well.... she'll out run a panda 100hp (0-60 9.5secs/115mph).....and a 500 1.4(0-60 10.5secs/113mph) maybe the twisty stuff will give pause for thought...but at 6/10ths it will provide a shed:)D) load of fun.......mk1 tub:0-60 8.3sec/125mph....just noticed the forthcoming 500 abarth ss (0-60 8ish secs/125mph.....ish) so certianly able to keep them in sight.....

plans? well at the moment, staying alive is first priority....mrs jai is going to go ballistic, i may have intimated a full runner in my blah to her.......which this isnt, there's a fair bit of front end plumbing and wiring work, cosmetics? not overly fussed as seems not too bad, get the MOT, run her for the summer shows season, and then have a think....get my beloved red up and out there, and run them as a sort of his and hers? or sell the white, and concentrate on the red.....

 its got towbar :(

yeah i know! how odd, thats both of mine now that have come like that....this one looks like a proper good one too, regardless...it's coming off

Nice one Jai (y) How's Mrs Jai taking the news?

Apart from a few 'chavvy' bits and pieces it appears to be pretty damn good my friend :)

mrs jai has been remarkably calm, then again she is 5000 odd miles away in india, and cant see it.....or where it is.....she's back tomorrow night

as for the chavvy stuff, i have a full set of black bumpers and arches, but no cosmetic work till she's a runner with ticket

 its got towbar :(

And some tow bar it is! Looks like it was made with left overs from the Forth Bridge! :p

Apart from a few 'chavvy' bits and pieces it appears to be pretty damn good my friend :)

Other than the painted bumpers it is exactly as Fiat intended it, so there aren't any Chavvy bits to be found! ;)

I had a look over it with Jai yesterday. It's structurally very sound (strut tops look good but not as good as my 70SX ) though cosmetically a little 'challenged'. Nothing a bit of elbow grease won't sort out.

First things first, the engine has to be persuaded to run. I was going to help Jai do this today but ended up fitting an exhaust to my SX instead. I'll probably give him a hand next week when I'm on my University Easter break.

Wish us luck that it will start!

It has got chavvy bits! the boots been smothed and fitted with a bike plate for two!

I think it should be re-silvered :D silver and black would look mean !

new dizzy cap, dizzy cap inside metal bits can get naffed up if left for ages, so make it no start

Could be a possibilty. My first test would be to run the coil lead direct to earth and check to see if there is a spark from the coil itself. If there isn't then the problem lies with the UT's low tension side of the ignition system/ crankshaft sensor etc.

I'll give Jai a hand when I'm off next week (y)

i sense you are itching to "re-imagine" the tubs colour scheme padawan.....your kung fu is strong, but no match for an uno in white with black arches, and a normal rear numberplate:p

i always like the smoothed rear hatch look, in fact i believe you created one for me....

:p

yes had a go today, the weather was very pooey, was being blown about all over the garden, but....got the injector fan off (about as useful as a cock flavoured lollipop) and the moss alarm (very effective at waking you up in the middle of the night) but the wiring is a total mess in there, someone has been bodging with a vengence

An UT with dodgy wiring  Now that's gotta be a first

Looks like dare I say it... a nice project :D

Be good to see it at some shows..

Get it at a baragin price I take it

well i'd like to say thanks to the bell end that installed the towbar...nice work knob, not only did you drill 7, count them 7!!!!!!! holes in the boot area, you didn't reseal a single one, you chopped the rear wiring up like sushi to splice in the towbar electrics, and to cap it all used battleship strength torque to tighten down 2 nuts per bolt......what were you hoping to tow? the ark royal? ater much swearing, violence, judicious and wanton use of a hammer, assorted spanners, wrenches and wd40, it and the car have been seperated forever, and i am now the proud owner of a 15 kilo lump of pig iron that has no use for anything other than tying to your feet when i drop you off a bridge....and i skinned my knuckles:cry:
