Like your front brace. Where did you have it made or did you make it yourself?
Bit of a random question, but you wouldn't know where I can find a 2 door sedan?? Jeremy.

Hey Jeremy, i actually got it from repco ! - just made the approprate mounts for the strut towers using a plasma cutter, some thick steel plate, and a mig.

2 door sedans are rare as all hell !

I just read my post where i had written 160 fwhp .. that was a lie, its 160 flywheel.

You are possibly all going to hate me :D thanks to one of your other members Scott, i spent my weekend driving for a total of 17 hours, but picked up another gorgeous almost showroom condition fiat 128.

This one is a New Zealand new car, with 3 owners, 178,000kms on the clock, a 1300 engine with 1100 head, 128 3p manifolds and carb, and a Fiat 125T camgrind (0.379" valve lift, 247 @ 050), and a bigger carb.

Unfortunately i cant leave it alone :( this car is going to turn into the new Engine Parts 128 race car.

When i can afford it, this one is headed to the acid tank for a bare metal dip, so i can seem weld it, put a nice cage in it, small flares and front splitter, and then it will recieve my good motor and gearbox, and have the suspension tricked up.

This is a long term project, so dont expect to see it finished inside the next year or so while i keep racing the white/blue car.

We have almost finished my fathers yellow car as well ...

Heres some pics of the new project, and my fathers yellow 128.
Dads car now has the same wheels as my race car, same suspension, and the engine is almost identical, except that it runs 87mm cast pistons instead of forged, and has a standard 128 diff instead of the "BOI" hemispherical LSD that mine runs.

I also have a thing for 128 sedans, have a few of them this is my latest one. I kind of wish I would have stuck with a naturally aspirated motor but went with a turbo. They are fun!!

Someone requested vid's .. these are taken by a cellphone so not great quality, but theres one at a practice day taking passengers (with a blown manifold gasket) and one of the engine.

Note: none of these are at race pace .. just easy laps around Pukekohe race track.

Hey guys - the race motor is almost back together. Came down to work last night and swirl polished all the exhaust valves, and made a new set of intake valves. The block is dummy assembled, with a new felpro head gasket, waiting for the head to be finished so i can check for valve to piston clearance.

In the mean time, i have taken the motor out of the brown car, taken a spare 1500 long block, plonked that in the engine bay, and got that car wof'ed and registered ! .. it actually drives very nicely. Its got the early X19 engine, 128SL coupe exhaust and intake manifolds, and a 2" exhaust, and a 32DMTR (soon to be changed to a 34DMTR thanks to Scott).

I also have my old Lancia Beta wheels to go on, a set of lowered suspension, and an autosport seat (thanks to Scott).

It should make for a fun daily driver while i get the race car going again.

Too many fiats, too little time.

All this time and I didn't even know that you were on here Carl. I've been looking in the wrong area, this forum site is too big!:)

I can tell everyone that not a lot is happening in the garage at Carls place. He did say that he was going to put some hours in on the head this weekend though... We shall see...

Scott.

Whoah i haven't been on here in AGES .. sorry guys.
I have now completed the brown 128 which is up for sale ! ... the blue/white race car's engine has been dummy assembled, and is waiting for an engineer to machine the valve pockets in the pistons a little deeper, and the yellow car is just awaiting a slight tidy up before its ready to go.

I'm posting up a thread for the black car for sale !

the yellow car will be up for sale very soon too, and then maybe the blue/white car in the next year or so.

:(

I have bought a new race car project after 10 years with the blue/white car, so its time to move on, and unfortunately have to sell the 128's to be able to fund it ! (luckily its Fiat based )

Yep! shes an '85 Lancia Delta HF Turbo, FWD Carburetted.

Basically what it boils down to is that i have a very heavily modified 128 .. and the only things i really have left to do with it are composite body panels and lexan ... then im really stuffed as to what to do other than race and maintain it. I don't want to do an engine swap out of something more modern, as i still want it to be a classic race car and i believe that the fibreglass panels etc defeat the nature of what we built my 128 to be.

I bought the Delta as i actually wanted an Integrale, but they are quite rare, and hellishly expensive in NZ. Also i wanted something that i can build up from scratch. Basically the plan is to build an angry tarmac race car that i can do sealed hillclimbs etc in, with the goal of having a quick, reliable, and fun race car with roughly 200hp at the front treads, and a new car that i would be happy to own for 10 years plus just as i have with the 128 !

Well thats one lucky lancia! Confirmation that there will be 1 more good'un out there for a good long while yet, never a bad thing.. i can't actually remember the last time i saw one of them just randomly out and about other than a few i know the owners of.

Get some pics posted matey, or have you started another thread?

Heres some pics of the new girl .. i've done a little tidying already, sorted out a few oil leaks, realigned the bumpers, made a new intake pipe/cold airbox setup, had albany signs do the windscreen banner etc. Im trying to find some info on them, but theres not alot around. The next step is to get the rollcage done, and order a set of lowering springs, then i can go and play for starters.

Hopefully i will be able to find out where to order parts soon enough :)
