Thats because MK3/MK4 fezers, MK4/MK5 escorts and early Ka's have just about the same dash barring the main difference in which the Ka dash is white (some fez and escort dashes are white as well depending on the model) whereas mondeo from same era doesnt share the same dash as these as you can see from picture i posted

escort went digital around mk6 or 1999/2000 or used the dash from a puma and focus, fiesta around same time and from a puma and focus, mondeo went digital at mk3 and a complete re-design
