Hi all

New to this page, afraid I only looked it up as I have a problem with my geriatric V-reg Marea Weekend SX. The rear seat backrest on the passenger side won't fold down - I lift the catch and it moves a bit, then sticks as if it's caught on something.

This has happened before and the garage fixed it - they said it was just a pin in the wrong place. I really don't want to have to take it back just for them to fix the seat!

Really annoying as the reason I bought the car was to carry round all my gig gear and not being able to flatten the seats is a major pain! Got a gig on Sunday so really need to fix it.:slayer:

Thanks all in advance... J

Thanks Polecat, I will give that a go when I can grab someone to help. We did the gig, we just had to work around the broken seat!

hi, do you mean the bigger section with the extra seat belt on? if so it took me a while to figure it out, i dont have a handbook:confused: if you fold the smaller section down at look near the hinge on the bigger backrest you will just about be able to see a metal pin (about 10mm diameter) that should be pushed in (towards the seat) to release the backrest in full:) .on mine the black plastic coating was causing it to stick so i just cut it back with a sharp knife and it now works fine(y)

Thank you! We've managed to get it down, so now we have to figure out if we can get it back up!

Cheers for all your help :)

Stuck again Kev! :p

I guess it will fold down if I check this pin under the smaller seat?

I always have to get something long and thin to push that large pin in near the hinge while i operate the catch to lower my backrest ( the smaller side). Same to put it up again. Bit of a pain but it works.
It's useful to plug in the central seat belt before you lower the back seat rest to avoid it jamming when you put the backrest back up.
