I have just received a quote from powerfiat (www.powerfiat.co.uk) to do:

"The cambelt change on the marea 20v is priced at £399. this includes
everything that needs to be changed inc cambelt, tensioner, tensioner idler,
water pump, both aux belts and their tensioners and pulleys.

yes the engine needs to be dropped and moved over, but we have done over 300
now and can do the job within 4 hours."

They are based in Basildon, Essex.

Nice to know. put it up as a link on the top bar.

It would have been worth me driving down and staying the night at those rates.

:bang: Well, I have heard lot of stories about cambelt change and 72k service which according to Fiat dealers or specialists would costs you in excess £1000+. I can tell you that the spare parts required is the timing belt itself(£31) , one adjuster bearing (£30), one ajustable bearing ( £50+) or you can get a kit for £130 ( Made in Germany). I have got the total job done in only £250 ( parts & labour). I can tell you, no engine in and out, no mess or fuss, it take two days and it really works well. Finally if your interested, give me a quick email on [email protected]. I know, no one can beat this quote. (y)

Work included cambelt change, new water pump, tensioners and auxilary belts for under £400.00 and in just a morning....!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW....!!!!!!!!! Roger is the guy to speak to, very helpful and friendly...

Yes, I had my cambelt done as well last saturday with powerfiat, they are very nice, I would recommend it to anyone! :)

Was it a gold marea weekend you had that saturday morning? Becoz I seen one when I brought mine in that afternoon, mine is a red saloon.
