Hi!
I tried searching on this topic but I didn't find anything...

So, my engine head (DOHC, 8v, 2L) from a fiat croma is getting removed soon for some work on the engine due to huge oil consumption.

Now, I was thinking I could do some performance mods to the head while it's off. I was thinking about shaving the head (removing some material from the head) for increased compression, cleaning out the head and tri-angle valve cut. Now, how much should I remove from the head for slight compression increase (from 9:1 (I think that my croma has this comp ratio, I couldn't find the exact data, although I had it somewhere) to (for example) 10:1)? What's the genereal shave-to-increased-compression ratio on these heads? Any specs on the valve cut? Anything else that I should do?

I was also thinking about replacing my cams with something better, but still cheap and from a different (stock) car in fiat/lanicia model range. Does anyone know if ritmo/strada abarth 130TC cams will give me more power? Any other cam from some other model in fiat/lancia range?

Car is for the street use only.
