Hi all.

just got a reply from Angel tuning regarding re-mapping.
Some great discount is available if we can get a few of us together in one place.

2 cars £55 off each
3-4 cars £85 off each
5-6 cars £100 off each
7+ cars £120 off each

this is discounted against the usual price as on their website.

Potentially, i could get my 1.9 sporting done for £230. bargain :D

I'm in Cardiff. I don't mind traveling a bit to get the price.

Any others interested? Reply here listing where you are, and we'll see how we get on.

can't see a 1.4 16v remap on the list - anyone know what this would cost?

if its not listed it means the ecu has no eprom (electronically programmable read only memory) on it, meaning a remap isnt possible. same as my car :(

Have they sorted out the problems they had making a connection, reading the following thread they could not remap a couple of GP's due to technical issues.
Excellent price if you can get enough people.

The issues related to shouldn't be an issue. The EDC 16 ECU has got a much faster processor than previous ECUs and can easily be accessed by opening up. When trying to access it via the socket it takes an awful long time to do.

They are awaiting the new board to remap without opening the ecu.
Expected in the next few weeks.

I would suggest waiting for this, which myself i m glad to do.
Only got my car today, so maybe best to get a few miles in first;)

this also gives us time to get some numbers together.

2 people already.
Me, and my mate with a saab 2.2td

another taker and thats £85 off per car.

So OldSchool, could you let me know how much you'd charge (before the above group buy discounts) to remap a 1.4 16v? Thanks.

I could be interested in getting my Stilo Mwagon done. I have just got my GP (see other posts) but don't want to do it immediately, I'm a bit bothered about warranty issues. I assume from all the posts that the discount assumes we're all in one place to have them done together on the same day. Seems a bit difficult to arrange since all the replies are from all over the country. Perhaps someone can clarify if this is the case.

No it doesnt - as the companies who do the tuning for you should have told you had they done any this way! There is little time difference to taking the ECU out, prising the back cover off, reading using BDM and then doing it as to doing it from the socket - we know, as we do them both ways and both take around 40 mins if you are doing a careful job on the ECU and by the time you have got the covers off, undone the bolts etc.

Have done it myself this way.
